‘Marketer on the Rise’ chosen from five finalists; award recognizes next generation of influential marketers 
AMA Toronto Announces Canada’s  ‘Marketer on the Rise’ award winner

TORONTO – (Mar. 8, 2017) – Who is Canada’s next up-and-coming marketer making his/her name as an entrepreneur, innovator, disruptor or digital influencer? AMA Toronto has announced that Simon Cazelais has been chosen from among five finalists as winner of the fifth annual Globe Media Group ‘Marketer on the Rise’ award.

Simon is the Partner and President of Bleublancrouge. Simon made his mark in sponsorship in 2008, when he published the first worldwide study on how to measure sponsorship performance. His “Sponsorship Insight Model” has become an industry standard throughout North America.

“This is the fifth year of the prestigious award and we had a very accomplished line-up of nominees, culminating with our five finalists ranging from entrepreneurs, brand managers and marketing professionals,” said Jacob Kessler, co-director of the Marketing Hall of Legends. “We relied on the dedication and analysis of the judging committee, made up of some of the country’s most-respected senior marketers, to select our winner and Simon is very deserving of this award.”

The Marketer on the Rise award, presented during the annual Marketing Hall of Legends Gala in Toronto, represents the next generation of inspiring innovators who are making waves with their original thinking, innovative ideas, ground-breaking strategies, and have found meaningful ways to give back and achieve impressive professional goals and are already making a difference in marketing within Canada. 

The Marketing Hall of Legends gala held March 3 in Toronto also featured the presentation of the Marketing Hall of Legends 2016 inductees: Arthur Fleischmann, president and co-founder of award-winning agency john st.; Arkadi Kuhlmann, founder of ING DIRECT Canada; Richard Peddie, former president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and former CEO of the Toronto Raptors; and Bob Peter, former president and CEO of the LCBO and former president of The Bay.
